Gautam Budh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency

Curious case of GautamBudh Nagar Constituency:
Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 80 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in Uttar Pradesh state in northern India . This constituency, spread over Bulandshahr and Gautam Buddha Nagar districts came into existence in 2008 as a part of the implementation of delimitation of parliamentary constituencies based on the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India constituted in 2002.

Current and past Situation:
Presently , GautamBudh Nagar Lok Sabha Constituency comprises of  5 Vidhan sabha (legislative assembly) segments. Noida , Jewar , Sikandrabad , Khurja & Dadri. Last time BSP won this seat by a close margin from BJP. Whereas SP and INC came 3rd and 4th .But a lot has changed since then. BSP candidate , Surendra Nagar already facing anti-incumbency due to his inaccessibility to the locals. BJP candidate , Dr. Mahesh Sharma who later became MLA from Noida , Rising crime rate in Noida is giving hard time to Noida MLA. Similarly SP candidate , Narendra Bhati got himself involved during infamous controversy of IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal. INC candidate , Mr.  Ramesh Chandra Tomar , who defected from BJP to INC last time came a distance 4th and has no room to recover from such a heavy defeat.
Caste Equation:
This Constituency is dominated by Thakurs and Muslims. Gujjars at third place. Muslims in this area seems to have parted their ways from SP towards INC. Whereas Gurjar voters  have to choose between the candidates fielded, SP and BSP are more likely to field a Gurjar candidate, With a lot of chances of their votes getting divided. BJP may again field a Brahmin candidate. Last time Thakurs vote divided  between INC and BJP , Even though INC candidate was a Thakur but he being an outsider and of RSS background , He had to face defeat.
Social Movements :
Famous Bhatta-Parsaul agitation against state government for Land Acquisition took place in 2011. Thereafter this area has seen a lot of protests by farmers for Land Acquisition Bill led by Dhirendra Singh , Spokesperson , UPCC who shares a great and clean image among farmers and more so among Muslims and Thakurs of the area. Ultimately this bill was passed by parliament in Monsoon session. Thus bringing farmers at a common Platform and more so inclined towards Congress , thanks to the efforts of Rahul Gandhi and Dhirendra Singh.
What Next :
We are in for a close 4 cornered Contest between the four major political parties.
