Dhirendra Singh : Grass Root Worker or Down to Earth Leader
We all have heard of The Great Bhatta - Parsaul Agitation . Hardly any person who don't know who Rahul Gandhi is. But what lies between them is a person who led the movement of farmers started by Rahul Gandhi for their right of Land Acquisition Bill. Well his name is , Dhirendra Singh.
Two years back our country witnessed an intense agitation by farmers in Bhatta Parsaul , Twin village in Gautam Budh Nagar District , 20 km stone from National Capital. Agitating farmers at that time got a stick from police. State Government denied support to farmers. Then entered Rahul Gandhi who completely changed the contours of the agitation. Police stopped troubling farmers. That was the time when this movement of Land Acquisition Bill Started. A movement started by Rahul Gandhi and carried forward by Dhirendra Singh.
What Followed Post agitation :
Once agitation stopped , assembly elections season in UP started . Dhirendra Singh unsuccessfully contested election from Jewar constituency. Yes bitter truth he lost that election by a narrow margin but he raised vote percentage share of congress by a great deal in this area. It is said that he became a victim of caste based politics in this area.Honest leaders face such problems because they beileve in equality rather than communal-ism. But after this we saw a rise of Down to earth leader from a grass root worker

Dhirendra Singh didn't lose heart from Defeat as his ultimate aim was to get farmers their right. But some regional parties were busy playing caste based politics. He continued with his sole aim , Policy for Land Acquisition Bill. He started having meeting in various Villages. Organised Panchayats , agitations. Ultimately the Bill was tabled in Lok Sabha but as Usual our Opposition disrupted the parliament. Some modifications recommended by various leaders led a delay in the bill. But that didn't stop his fight for people of this area. He increased his area of protests to the poor power supply in the area till bill is tabled again in the parliament.

So after all the modifications bill was tabled in monsoon session of parliament in 2013. But now opposition parties played their role. To stop the bill getting a passage , opposition started disrupting the parliament. Then came the master stroke by Dhirendra Singh. He along with Farmers staged a protest at Jantar Mantar against Opposition parties stalling the parliamnet proceedings. Same day a memorandum was presented to Honorable speaker of Lok Sabha Smt. Miera Kumar regarding the demands of farmers. Two days later bill got a passage in Lok Sabha . About Dhirendra Singh :
Currently Appointed as Spokesperson , UPCC , Dhirendra Singh hails from a family with Farming Background. Doesn't Believe in Communalism. He has Re-defined Caste based politics by working for farmers . Farmers in his area includes Rajputs , Jats , Muslims. Regarded highly even among Muslims due to his secular working style. Works for all whosoever comes to him for help.Not only this , he is actively present in Social media. He may be followed on twitter @rabupura .
